Jim Cowser

Jim Cowser, LCSW, ICADC, ICCDP- D is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Kentucky, an internationally certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and an internationally certified Co-Occurring Disorder Professional (Board Diplomate). He received his Masters in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2001. He has worked in the mental health and addictions field for the past 15 years.

His work in Addictions has included:

• Clinical and supervisory positions in both inpatient and outpatient treatment;
• An emphasis on the treatment of co-occurring disorders (Dual Diagnosis);
• Program Director of a residential treatment facility;
• Clinical positions in criminal justice treatment programs;
• Practice with both adolescent and adult populations;
• Experience in medical hospitals, group homes, residential treatment, community mental health;
• Providing professional trainings and education as adjunct faculty;
• Providing specific assessments, evaluations and treatment for healthcare professionals;

Jim is currently in private practice in Louisville, KY specializing in ARISE Interventions and treatment of individuals and families affected by addiction and co-occurring disorders.

He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Association of ARISE Interventionists and the American Philosophical Practitioners Association.

He has served as an evaluator for the Kentucky Board of Nursing and as a Clinical Services Supervisor for the State of KY Mental Health and Addiction Services, DUI Division.
